SUMMER IN NORTHERN NEW ENGLAND USA & NOVA SCOTIA TOUR
SAMPLE TOUR ITINERARY 9 NIGHTS / 10 DAYS

Friday Day One: Your Northern New England USA & Nova Scotia tour begins when you leave your home city today and fly to Manchester, New Hampshire Airport. Here a tour representative of New England Vacation Tours Inc. will greet you in the luggage area, where you will be transferred to downtown Manchester to The Holiday Inn, where we shall spend the night. This evening you will join us for your Welcome to New England dinner at the Holiday Inn.

Saturday Day Two: Breakfast is on your own today. This morning we shall check out of our hotel and head northeast to the beautiful Green Mountains of Vermont. Our first stop this morning will be Vermont’s Little Grand Canyon, Quechee Gorge. Lunch today is on your own today, and can be purchased in one of New England’s most beautiful and picturesque villages, Woodstock, Vermont. This afternoon we shall visit Plymouth, Vermont, the birthplace of our 30th President of The United States, President Calvin Coolidge…while at the restored village you will see the homestead, carriage barns, house of worship and the general store just as they were during the Coolidge era. Late this afternoon we shall travel northwest back into the State of New Hampshire where we shall spend the night and have our included dinner this evening in the capital city of New Hampshire, Concord, New Hampshire.

Sunday Day Three: After our included continental breakfast we shall check out of our hotel, and head north of Concord, where we shall visit and tour and step back 200 years and experience the Shaker way of life. Today we shall visit the Canterbury Shaker Village, a national historic landmark with 25 original buildings situated on a rolling hilltop surrounded by open fields, woodlots and ponds. An informative and fascinating guided tour will introduce the customs, inventions, furniture, architecture and values of this utopian society. Watch crafts begin made in the Shaker tradition, including oval boxes, brooms, poplarware and dovetailed totes. Lunch is on your own today and can be purchased right at Canterbury Shaker Village. From here we shall visit the Lava Mountain Ranges, of the beautiful White Mountains of New Hampshire, with its spectacular view of New England. This afternoon we shall visit the beautiful Franconia Notch State Park (The Home of The “Old Man of The Mountains”). From here we shall travel east along one of America” most scenic highway’s The Kancamagus Highway. Our lodging this evening will be in North Conway, New Hampshire area. Dinner is included once again this evening.

Monday Day Four: After our included country breakfast, we shall tour the Mount Washington MtWashington1Mountain range area. This morning we shall visit and tour Heritage New Hampshire. Here we shall journey though 300 years of New Hampshire’s history. Our voyage will start in England in the 1600’s to the 1700’s to the American Revolution and the birth of our great nation. To the 1800’s Industrial Revolution to the tragedy and triumph of the civil war (The War of the States). Lunch is once again on your own today. North Conway, New Hampshire is famous for it’s outlet store shopping. This afternoon we shall enjoy an hour-long nostalgic train ride though the beautiful Mount Washington Valley aboard the North Conway Rail Road. Our lodging this will be in the Portland, Maine area. Dinner is included once again this evening.

Please Note: At this time the CAT ferry boat schedule out of Portland, Maine is not published as of yet and our sample tour itinerary may have to be adjusted if we have to sail out of Bar Harbor, Maine to Yarmouth, Nova Scotia Canada. (Proof of United States Citizenship is needed to enter into Canada and re-entry back into the United States – you need either a valid US Passport or the new passport card.

Tuesday Day Five: Breakfast is on your own this morning and an early morning check out is planned for this morning. Depending upon our departure point to Nova Scotia aboard the CAT ferry our day shall depending upon the ferry boat departure time and departure point. This afternoon we shall motorcoach along the scenic North Shore past Digby and Annapolis Royal. We shall also see one of the most hallowed spots, The Grand Pre National Park. It was here on this site that much of Longfellow’s epic story “Evangeline” took place. An early evening arrival is planned for Halifax, Nova Scotia, where we shall spend the next two nights at the Delta Barrington. Dinner is included once again this evening. (Proof of U.S. Citizenship is needed to enter into Canada)

Wednesday Day Six: Breakfast is on your own this morning. This morning we shall have a guided tour of the beautiful City of Halifax. On tour we shall see and visit the public gardens, The Citadel, Dalhouise University (The site of the Great Explosion of 1917). We shall also visit Peggy’s Cove. Lunch is on your own today and can be purchased in downtown Halifax. This afternoon is yours to enjoy as you see fit. Dinner is included this evening once again.

Thursday Day Seven: Breakfast is included this morning before we check out of our downtown Halifax hotel and drive back to Yarmouth to catch the morning sailing of the CAT ferry back to the main land. Depending upon the ferry boat departure time and arrivial point we shall leave the day open to adjust once a sechduled has been published. Our lodging this evening will be either in the Bar Harbor, or Portland Maine area. This evening we will be treated to a downeast lobster clambake dinner

Friday Day Eight: Breakfast is on your own this morning. This morning we shall visit Freeport, Maine the outlet store capital of Maine, and home of L.L. Bean. Lunch is on your own today, and can be purchased in Freeport, Maine. This afternoon we shall visit and tour Portland, Maine. On tour we will see the home of a great poet “Longfellow”, Casco Bay, the famous lighthouse and so much more. Dinner is included this evening.

Saturday Day Nine: After our included continental breakfast we shall check out of our hotel and head south and tour the beautiful coast line of Maine & New Hampshire. Our first stop this morning will be Kennebunkport, Maine (The summer home of Ex-President George W. Bush). From here we shall travel south along the coast of Maine, with a variety of stops enroute to Boston, Massachusetts…the birthplace of America. Lunch is on your own today and can be purchased at the famous and colorful Quincy Hall Marketplace. This afternoon we shall have a two hour guided tour of Boston and see such sites as; The First Church of Christ Scientist “Mother Church”, The Boston Freedom Trail, Old North Church, and a tour of the USS Constitution which is more affectionately know as “Old Ironsides”, the oldest commissionable ship in the U.S. Navy fleet today. Late this afternoon we head north back to Manchester, New Hampshire back to the Holiday Inn. We cap off our tour of Northern New England USA & Nova Scotia this evening with a refreshing and relaxing farewell dinner at our hotel.

Sunday Day Ten: Breakfast is on your own this morning. This morning at your convenience you may check out of the hotel and take one of the hotel courtesy vans back to the airport to make your return home. With many fond memories of Northern New England USA & Nova Scotia, and of your newfound friends in New England.
