1) Forgetting to book a double bed or a queen-size bed. You may laugh,
but it's important when reserving hotels, especially abroad and in Canada,
and crucial if you are going to be booking a cruise.
2) Making reservations for an early morning flight after your wedding.
If you're planning an evening reception, you can be sure you're not going
to bed early on you're wedding night. A later flight may save you from
walking bleary-eyed through the airport.
3) Skimping on your accommodations. Maybe on other trips, but not a
honeymoon. Even if you think you won't spend much time in your room, you'll
be sorry if your accommodations are not special. After all, you will have
many vacations throughout your life together, but only one honeymoon together.
Probably the most common honeymoon lament we hear is, "I wish we'd
spent just a little more and stayed in a deluxe room".
4) Not setting a honeymoon budget ahead of time. Before you go, know
what the essentials are going to cost you such as airfare, hotel lodging,
and car rentals rates etc. etc. Agree upon before hand, what you'll splurge
on and where you'll skimp to avoid any possible money hassles while on
your honeymoon tour vacation.
5) Letting one person do all the planning. After all, this honeymoon
is for the both of you. If you do all the work, you'll feel guilty if things
don't go perfectly. If you don't take part in the planning, you'll probably
end up dissatisfied. Remember that your life together has just begun.
6) Ignoring cost-savings travel packages. Talk to us, and let us know
what you want and what you are looking for in your honeymoon package. We
can design a special package just for you that will allow you to have all
the frills you want…and save you money.
7) Thinking you have to spend every minute together. You'll both be
happier if you plan one or two separate activities on your honeymoon -
and think of how much fun you'll have sharing your experiences with each
other.
8) Keeping mum about being honeymooners. Don't be bashful, tell everyone
you are on your honeymoon, you're most likely to enjoy special treatment
whereever you go.
9) Relying too much on friends and family. Ask for recommendations from
friends and family, but don't let yourselves be overly influenced. Follow
your own interests, this is your honeymoon vacation.
10) Not consulting with a travel professional. A capable travel professional
will help you plan a honeymoon that's right just for the two of you. If
possible find a travel professional (Inbound Receptive Tour Operator) where
you are going. Their personal knowledge of the area you are going to visit
