Friday July 2, 2010

Welcome Day One; Today you will travel from your home town to Manchester, New Hampshire Airport (just 56 miles north of Boston) Airfare is not included in your tour rate of $6,579.00 perperson. However, if you like we shall find you the lowest airfare possible into Manchester, New Hampshire Airport an issue you your airline ticket in your behalf. For our international teens (airfare is not included) you can fly into Boston, and for an additional fee of $75.00 per person we can have you transfer to Manchester, New Hampshire to meet our group. Arrivals are planned for today between the hours of 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM. All teens should plan on arriving by this time. Our staff will meet and greet each individual teen at the gate upon their arrival and departure. (Airport Security may not allow this at this time, if so we shall meet and greet you in the luggage area of the airport.)After your arrival at the airport you will be transfered to our hotel, where we shall spend the next three nights. A Gala Welcome & Orientation Dinner & Party is planned for this evening. D


Saturday July 3, 2010

After our included breakfast this morning we shall head south and visit and tour historic Boston…the birthplace of the American Revolution. Our first stop this morning we shall tour the John Fitzgerald Kennedy Memorial Library and Museum. The library is dedicated to the 35th President of the United States, John Fitzgerald Kennedy, and to all those who through the art of politics seek a new and better world. Then we shall tour historical downtown Boston along the Boston Freedom Trail. (Walking Shoes Needed) On tour this morning we shall see such sites as; The First Church of Christ Scientist "Mother Church" - Fenway Park - Harvard University - The Old North Church - Bunker Hill Monument - Paul Revere Home - and so much more. Lunch is included today and will be served at the colorful Quincy Hall Marketplace (fanueil Hall) in downtown Boston. This afternoon we shall visit and tour the USS Constitution which is more affectionately known as "Old Ironsides" Dinner is included once again. B L D

HappyBirthday America!


Today, after a hearty breakfast, we will travel to the City of Witches, Salem, Massachusetts. 

Salem named from the Hebrew for "Shalom" means peace. Here you will relive the hysteria and paranoia of the infamous witch trails of 1692. We shall visit the lurid story of accusation and persecution as recounted at the Salem Witch Museum and Witch House built in 1642. We shall also visit America's most popular historic home - the 1668 house of Seven Gables, immortalized by native son novelist Nathaniel Hawthorne, a descendant of one of the Witch Trail Judges. This afternoon we shall enjoy and afternoon at the beach, at Hampton Beach, New Hampshire. (Weather Permitting). Dinner is included once again this evening. B L D


Monday July 5, 2010

After breakfast this morning we shall check out of our hotel and head north to Concord, New Hampshire the Capitol City of New Hampshire. Here we shall visit and tour The Christa Mc Auliffe Planetarium a living memorial to the Concord, New Hampshire schoolteacher who lost her life aboard the Space Shuttle Challenger back in 1986. Then we shall step back in time 200 years and experience the Shaker way of life. Here we shall visit the Canterbury Shaker Village, a national historic landmark with 25 original buildings situated on a rolling hilltop surrounded by open fields, woodlots and ponds. An informative and fascinating guided tour will introduce the customs, inventions, architecture and values of this utopian society. Watch crafts begin made in the Shaker tradition, including oval boxes, brooms, poplarware and dovetailed totes. From here we shall head west to the beautiful Green Mountains of Vermont. Our lodging for the next three nights will be at the Mount Snow, Vermont Resort Township of West Dover, Vermont. The Home of ESPN Winter X-Games. B L D

For the next two days you will have a choice of activities to choose from. Activities include; Mountain Biking - Hiking - Swimming - Horseback Riding - Tennis - Canoeing - Sailing - Golfing - Gymnastics and so much more. We will also be treated to an old fashion small town Fourth of July Celebration in township of Wardsboro, Vermont along with a small town 4th of July Fireworks Celebration in Wilmington, Vermont. Plus an old fashion 4th of July picnic lunch at poolside. 


Thursday July 8, 2010

After our hearty breakfast this morning we shall check out of our Mount Snow, Vermont hotel and head northeast to the Cosmopolitan City of Montreal, Canada. (Proof of United States Citizenship is needed to enter into Canada today. Or a visa will be needed by our international teens to enter into Canada and for re-entry back into the United States). We shall spend two nights in Montreal, Canada. 

Enroute to Montreal, Canada today, we shall visit Vermont's State Capitol City of Montpelier, Vermont the smallest State capital city in America. 

Late this morning we shall visit and tour America's favorite Ice Cream Kings Ben & Jerry Factory in Waterbury, Vermont, and receive a free scoop of Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream of the day. 

This afternoon we shall visit the famous Shelburne Museum. The Shelburne Museum is "a museum to make all collectors stand in amazement". 

The museum is set in a 35 acre park-like arrangement of floral gardens, ornamental shrubs and fruit trees. With over 45 fascinating exhibits including the side-paddle-wheeler "SS Ticondergoga" a steam-liner-train, Circus Parade Building, Antiques, Quilts and the world's largest collection of Americana. 

Late this afternoon we shall visit the beautiful township of Burlington, Vermont located on Lake Champlain and home of the University of Vermont. A late evening arrival is planned for Montreal, Canada this evening. B L D


Friday July 9, 2010

After our hearty American style breakfast this morning we shall have a four-hour city tour of the beautiful Cosmopolitan City of Montreal. Our tour this morning will begin in Old Montreal (The French Quarters) with its cobbled streets and classic architecture. Then onto the Beautiful Notre Dame Basilica, built in 1829. We shall also visit Mount Royal, the famous lookout over the city with its spectacular view of Montreal and the surrounding countryside. Mc Gill University, Saint Joseph Oratory, a world renowned landmark which towers 500 feet above Montreal and attracts millions of pilgrims a year for the miraculous healing that have occurred there over the years, plus a guided tour of the underground city of Montreal. Lunch this afternoon will be served at the Hard Rock Café. This afternoon we shall have a guided tour of Olympic Park & Stadium built for the 1967 Summer Olympics. B L D 


Saturday July 10, 2010

After our breakfast this morning, we shall check out of our hotel and head over to the St. Lawrence Seaway were we shall go Speed Boating on the St. Lawrence. This morning we shall enjoy speed boating, faster than a speeding bullet, take a ride on the wild side. Rodeo style jet boating with enough twists and turns to resemble a chase scene in a James Bond movie. Before we head west to Canada's National Capitol City of Ottawa, Canada. Where we shall spend the next two nights. 

An afternoon departure is planned for today from Montreal to Ottawa, Canada. A late evening arrival is planned for Ottawa, Canada today.B L D 


Sunday July 11, 2010

After our included breakfast we shall head over to Parliament Hill for the daily morning changing of the guards at the Canadian Parliament Building. After the changing of the guards we shall have a guided tour of the Canadian Parliament Building. (Which is the Canadian Government House of Government for Canada.) 

After lunch this afternoon we shall have a guided tour of the Capital City of Ottawa. Plus we shall visit and tour The Royal Mint, and the National Museum of Science and Technology. B L D  


Monday July 12, 2010

After breakfast this morning we shall check out of our hotel and head southwest to Toronto, Canada. A late afternoon arrival is planned for Toronto, Canada today. Enroute to Toronto today we shall visit a variety of tourist attractions. We shall also visit and tour the National Hockey League Hall of Fame. We shall spend the next two nights in Toronto, Canada. Tuesday July 13, 2010

This morning we shall have a guided tour of Toronto, Canada. We shall visit the CN Tower, the worlds' tallest freestanding structure with its spectacular views and observation deck. Then we shall tour the Casa Loma, Canada's foremost castle, and here we shall have a rigorous two-hour tour as we explore the "Hidden Rooms" of Casa Loma. From here we shall make a stop at the Eaton Center in downtown and at Harbourfront. The Harbourfront is a place for people - 100 acres of theatres, parks restaurants and boutiques all in a beautiful lakeside setting in downtown Toronto. B L D

This morning we shall check out of our hotel and head west to Hamilton, Canada and then onto Niagara Falls, Canada and Niagara Falls USA. This morning we shall have a tour of Niagara Falls both on the Canadian and the American side of the falls. We shall see Rainbow Falls, Goat Island, the Rapids, the hydroelectric plants, the Minolta and Skylon Towers, the Floral Clock, the whirlpool and the scenic tunnels. Our lodging this evening will be in the Buffalo, New York area this evening. B L D


Thursday July 15, 2010

After our included breakfast we shall check out of our hotel and tour the Queen City of the Great Lakes - Buffalo, New York the home of the Buffalo Bills. This morning we shall visit the largest historic preservation district in the United States, we shall see the site of the 1901 Pam-American Exposition, and the site of the inauguration of President Theodore Roosevelt and so much more. From here we shall travel to Rochester, New York were we shall tour and visit the George Eastman Kodak Museum and the home the Eastman Kodak Company. This afternoon we shall visit the Rochester Museum & Science Center. The Rochester Museum & Science Center creates inspiring, entertaining, and educational experiences, which will enable you to explore science and technology, the natural environment and the regions cultural heritage. We shall spend (3 nights) the weekend in the Leather Stocking area of the Catskills Mountains in upstate western New York State. Were we shall explore a variety of outdoor activities. B L D

Your parents may join us this weekend if they like. We have planned a variety of indoor and outdoor activities. You will have a choice of outdoor activities to chose from this weekend, swimming, hiking, biking, horseback riding, backpacking, and so much more. 

This weekend we shall also visit and tour America's favorite summertime past time, baseball. We shall visit and tour the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York. B L D

Monday July 19, 2010

After breakfast this morning we shall have a guided tour of Lancaster County "Amish Dutch Country". Our tour this morning shall blend the contemporary with the colonial past, spiced with the strong Pennsylvania influence. We shall see the "Plain Folks" as they really are. Our tour will start with a visit to a unique contemporary style Amish Home, which tells the true story of the Amish way of life and how they live today. We shall also visit the Amish Farmlands, and then we are off to school. We shall attend a real Amish School with actual lessons in history, geography and family living. Amish textbook will be included in the lesson. Meet your Amish Folkways interpreter and ask him questions on the culture and the ways of the Amish life, plus lets not forget Amish games at recess. 

This afternoon we shall visit and tour Hershey's Chocolate world. There's no sweeter place on earth than Hershey's Chocolate World. Here we shall explore the art of chocolate making on a simulated factory tour ride that concludes with a delicious sample. We shall also visit Founders Hall, which is the visitors center and the hub of the Milton Hershey School. The school, founded by Milton Hershey provides a home and tuition-free for 1,300 children. Late this afternoon and this evening we shall visit the Hershey Park USA Amusement Park. With over 87 acres of spine-tingling rides, top-name entertainment and high-spirited shows, shops, magical shows and so much more. B L D


Tuesday July 20, 2010

After breakfast this morning we shall check out of our hotel and head southeast to Washington DC our nation's capital. Enroute to our nation's capital today we shall visit Annapolis, Maryland the first peacetime capital of the United States (1783-1784). Since 1845, it has been the home of the United States Naval Academy which we shall tour this morning, We shall also tour the Maryland State House and St, John's College. We shall spend three nights here in the DC area 

A late afternoon arrival is planned for our nation's capital today. 

This evening we shall tour the monuments of Washington DC. This evening we shall visit the Lincoln Memorial, this grand monument overlooks the Reflecting Pool, the Vietnam & Korean Veterans Memorial, the Washington Monument and the US Capitol. From here we shall visit the black granite walls of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial which are inscribed with the names of the 58,209 Americans missing in action or killed in the Vietnam conflict. Then we shall visit the Washington Monument one of the tallest masonry structures in the world; this majestic obelisk was dedicated in 1885 to the memory of the first US President George Washington. Then we shall finish off our evening tour on the other side of the tidal basin at the Jefferson Memorial. Beneath the marble rotunda, the 19-foor statue of the third President of the United States is surrounded by passages from the Declaration of Independence and other famous Jefferson writings. B L D


Wednesday July 21, 2010 To Thursday July 22, 2010

We shall tour the Washington DC area for the next two days. Our tour of Washington Dc will start with a tour of the White House. The White House has been the home of every President since John Quincy Adams. (PLEASE NOTE: while a visit and tour of the White House is part of our scheduled itinerary, the White House is occasionally closed without notice for government business and events.) 

We shall continue our tour with a visit to Ford Theatre were the 16th President of the United States was shot and the Petersen House across the street where President Abraham Lincoln died. 

On tour of Washington DC we shall visit and tour the US Capitol Building (The People's House.) We shall also have a group photo taken on the steps of the US Capitol Building. 

We shall also visit Mount Vernon, Virginia the home and burial site of George Washington. The Arlington National Cemetery, America's largest national burial grounds with more than 600 acres of landscaped hills and home of the Tomb of the Unknown Solider and the burial grounds of JFK. See the "Iwo Jima Statue", visit and tour FDR Memorial, the Newseum museum, the National Space Museum at the Smithsonian Institute, Union Station and so much more while on tour for the next two days. 

On Thursday morning, we shall check out of our hotel and Thursday evening travel north to Philadelphia were we shall spend the night. B L D 


Friday July 23, 2010

This morning after breakfast and check out we shall tour America's most historic square mile. The images of American History literally surround you. A short stroll in any direction can put you in touch with such historic shrines as Independence Hall, where the Declaration of Independence was signed. Plus you can visit the home of Betsy Ross, Christ Church, and its cemetery where seven signers of the Declaration of Independence, including Benjamin Franklin are buried. Or you can visit the Graff House, the reconstructed home where Thomas Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence. And of course you will not want to miss the Liberty Bell displayed in a specially constructed building operated by the National Park Service. Any direction you choose will provide a personal view of the birth of our nation, The United States of America. 

This afternoon we shall visit and tour Valley Forge National Park. The focal point of Valley Forge is the 3,000-acre national park. Valley Forge was the site of the famed 1777 & 1778 winter encampment of George Washington and his Continental Army. Of all places associated with America War for Independence, none conveys more suffering, sacrifice and ultimate triumph than Valley Forge. No battles were fought; no bayonet charges or artillery bombardments took place here at Valley Forge. Nonetheless, thousands of American soldiers died during the winter. Valley Forge is the story of an army's epic struggle to survive against terrible odds, hunger, disease and the unrelenting forces of nature. While at Valley Forge we shall see a short film on the history of Valley Forge, visit Washington's Headquarters, the Memorial Arch, soldier huts and earthen fortifications. We shall spend the weekend in New York City area, the city that never sleeps. 

On tour this weekend we shall sail over to Ellis Island via a ferryboat. The story of Ellis Island is the chronicle of more than 12 million immigrants who passed though its doors from 1892 to 1954; individual stories of unrelenting hardship, fear of the unknown, and the pain of separation. It is also a story of their faith and courageous dedication as they sought freedom of speech, religious thought, and economic opportunity. The story of their pursuit of happiness is the saga of America. After touring Ellis Island, we shall sail over to Liberty Island. The home of the Statue of Liberty. Ms. Liberty was a gift of the French people to America. 

On tour this weekend we shall have a city tour of New York City and see such sites as; Rockefeller Center, Radio City Music Hall, Times Square, St. Patrick Cathedral, South Seaport, Wall Street, The New York Stock Exchange, The Empire State Building, Herald Square, Fifth Avenue, Central Park, Macy, and so much more. Plus we shall visit and tour the USS Intrepid Aircraft Carrier and Sea-Air Space Museum. Plus we shall see a Broadway Show on Broadway this weekend. B L D

over to the East Side of New York City and have a guided tour of the United Nations. Our tour will begin with a visit to the General Assembly Hall, the setting for the largest gatherings of world leaders in history. You will enter the Security Council Chamber where the nations seek arbitration of the world opinion in an effort to resolve disputes in peace. An early afternoon departure is plan for this afternoon from New York City and we shall travel north up the Hudson River and visit and tour the Franklin Delano & Eleanor Roosevelt Home and Presidential Library & Museum. Our lodging this evening will be near the grounds of West Point Military Academy in West Point, New York.  B L D 
 

Tuesday July 27, 2010

After breakfast this morning we shall check out of our hotel and have a two-hour guided tour of the United States Military Academy “West Point” which overlooks the beautiful Hudson River. The motto of the Academy is Duty, Honor & Country, and this motto has been set forth since the foundation of West Point in 1802. This afternoon we shall explore and tour the Hudson River area of New York State. This afternoon we shall also visit and tour the home of Fredrick and Louise Vanderbilt, built between 1896 and 1898, representative of the “Gilded Age”. Our lodging this evening will be in the Western Massachusetts area. This evening we shall visit Tanglewood the summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Tanglewood offers a wealth of music making, with performances ranging from chamber music and recitals to jazz and pop, plus the annual Festival of Contemporary Music, Boston Pops concerts, and Tanglewood on Parade. This evening show will be something to remember. B L D

After Breakfast this morning we shall check out of our hotel and visit the beautiful Berkshires Mountains of Western, Massachusetts. This morning we shall visit and tour the beautiful Norman Rockwell Museum and the hometown of Norman Rockwell of Stockbridge, Massachusetts. While in Stockbridge this morning we shall also visit the summer homestead of Daniel Chester French “Chesterwood” The site of sculptor of the Lincoln Memorial and the Boston Minuteman statute. This afternoon we shall visit the western Massachusetts Township of Williamstown and home of Williams College and the Clark Institute. Our lodging this evening will be in the Springfield/Hartford area. Late this afternoon and this evening we shall enjoy Six Flags of New England USA Amusement and Water Park USA. B L D 
 

Thursday July 29, 2010

After breakfast this morning we shall check out of our hotel and head over to Bradley International Airport were we shall visit and tour the New England Air Museum. This morning we shall have a guided tour of the air museum of aeronautics and the history of aviation. With over 70 aircraft on exhibit from all periods of history, including the oldest aircraft in the United States, the most famous racing airplanes of aviation's golden era, some of the earliest prototypes of helicopters, the last of the four engine American flying boats which provided commercial trans-Atlantic travel, and many of the airplanes that so proudly serviced in World War I, World II, Vietnam and Korea. 

This afternoon we shall visit and tour the James Naismith National Basketball Hall of Fame. Basketball started as a simple game in Springfield, Massachusetts. Thirteen rules carefully written by the game's inventor, Dr. James Naismith. What began modestly in a YMCA gymnasium to get through the dull winter months, is now played in more countries around the world than belong to the United Nations. Basketball has a deep and rich history - from its birth in 1891 to the present. And no better brings history alive better than the National James Maismith Basketball Hall of Fame.

Friday July 30, 2010

After we check out of our hotel this morning we shall visit New London, Connecticut the home of the United States Coast Guard Academy. The Coast Guard Academy was founded in 1876 as the Revenue Cutter School of Instruction, and the home of the United States Tall Ship USCGC Eagle. From here we shall visit and tour the Mystic Seaport, an experience you will remember. We shall explore the magnificent world of the great sailing vessels and the men and women who made them and took them to sea. Savor the life in the central coastal New England village where the women managed the home, and the children, and were a integral part of life at sea and ashore.

Saturday July 31, 2010

After breakfast this morning we shall have a guided tour of Newport, Rhode Island. The beautiful port city of Newport is the home of the America Cup, Millionaire Row and the Tennis Hall of Fame. 

This morning we shall visit and tour one of the many mansions located in Newport, Rhode Island. We shall tour and explore "The Breakers" a beautiful mansion located on Ochre Point Avenue, over looking the bay. The Breakers was built in 1895 for Cornelius Vanderbilt, it was designed by Richard Moris Hunt and resembles 16th century Northern Italian palaces and the grounds overlook the Atlantic Ocean and Cliff Walk. Time will be giving so that you can walk and hike the famous Newport Cliff Walk located on the rocky shores of Newport. Early this afternoon you will have free time to explore the port area of Newport on your own. 

Later on this afternoon we shall visit and tour the International Tennis Hall of Fame. And hopefully jump in for a quick swim on one Newport many beaches. B L D


Sunday August 1, 2010

This morning we shall check out of our hotel and explore the Fall River, Massachusetts area today. Our first stop this morning will be the Fall River Heritage State Park, the home of Battleship Cove. Featuring World II Battleship the USS Massachusetts, Destroyer USS Joseph P. Kennedy, Submarine USS Lionfish, The Hiddensee (Russian Missle Corvette) and the H.M.S. Bounty (The ship used in the movie Munity of the Bounty). And a 1920 Carousel (Merry go Round). 

Early this afternoon we shall visit the Lizze Borden Museum. The museum was the Borden home which was a Greek Revival House, which has been a city landmark since the infamous "Ax Murders" of Andrew and his second wife Abbe Bordon on August 4, 1992. 

This afternoon we shall visit and tour New Bedford, Massachusetts the Whaling Capital of the World back in the late 1800's. This afternoon we shall visit the world's largest whaling museum in downtown New Bedford, along with the New Bedford Firemen's museum. 

For the next five nights our lodging will be in the Cape Cod area. We shall visit a variety of locations on Cape Cod for the next six days. B L D


Monday August 2, 2010 To Wednesday August 4, 2010

Cape Cod and the Islands  
For the next five days we shall explore beautiful Cape Cod and the islands. One day we shall spend at the beach relaxing and wind surfing in cape cod bay. 
One day we shall visit the outer tip of cape cod in the beautiful township of Providencetown better known as P-Town. Here we shall board a whale watching boat and go whale watching for the day. On an other day we shall sail away to the storybook island of Martha's Vineyard aboard the Island Queen…relax with sea and sky and wind on a delightful 40-minute cruise across the sparking waters of Vineyard Sound. Once we arrive in Martha's Vineyardat Oak Bluffs, we will have a 2 hour bus tour of this beautiful and spectacular island. You will discover a gentler civilization when you visit the fabled island of Martha's Vineyard. Oak Bluffs, where we land with its Victorian gingerbread cottage colony. Edgartown, once the whaling capital of the world, preserved as it was then. 
We shall also visit Hyannisport, the home of the Kennedy Compound, Nantucket Island and so much more. A visit to America's Hometown of Plymouth, Massachusetts the home of Plymouth Rock, were the pilgrims landed and home of the Mayflower II. The Pilmouth Plantation as we step back in time to 1627. Here the museum interpreters have taken the roles of the 1627's Plymouth pilgrims in dress, dialect and religious philosophy. B L D 

Thursday August 5, 2010

After breakfast this morning we shall check out of our Cape Cod hotel and head northwest to Olde Sturbridge Village.  

Today we will step back to the 1800's. The entire Village is typical of the 1800's with more than 40 houses, shops and public buildings that vividly recreate the early American era. Here you will learn how to live off the land. 

This afternoon we shall visit The Minute Man National Historical Park, the site that started the American Revolution War with the Mother England. We shall start our visit this afternoon with a 25 - minute multi-media show "Road to the Revolution". Here we shall learn what led up to the events of April 19, 1775, which was the turning point in the long struggle between Mother England and her American colonies. In a march of protest and petition turned independence and revolution, the fighting (The shoot heard around the world) on April 19, 1775 would foreshadow the rebellious action of the American colonies to ultimately created a new nation, the United States of America. Created in 1959, MinuteMan National Park (900 acres) preserves and protects the significant historic sites, structures, properties and landscapes associated with the opening battles of the American Revolution. Most importantly, MinuteMan interprets the colonial struggle for natural rights and freedoms. Our lodging for the next two nights will be in the Southern New Hampshire area. B L D

Most of our day today will be spend at Canobie Lake Park and Amusement Center and Water Park USA. Were we shall spend most of the day having fun and saying our good-byes and enjoying ourselves in a very relax setting. 

This evening a gala farewell dinner is planned for us with all the trimmings. B L D


Saturday August 7, 2010

Departure Day: Sad to say all good things must come to an end. After breakfast this morning, you will be transfer back to the Manchester, New Hampshire International Airport. Please do not make any flight arrangements home from the Manchester, New Hampshire International Airport until after 12 Noon today and after 2:00 PM from Boston Logan International Airport. B
